International Reputation

The first foreign participant of the creative camp was the Serbian Nedim Hadziahmetovic, during the 2nd Symposium on Steel Sculptural Art of 2005. The work created by him, not lacking humour, has become the favourite of many people.

In 2006 the steel sculptural camp was organized for the third time in Kecskemét, in the KÉSZ Industrial Park. The creative camp with the cooperation of nine artists became international this year, and due to the successful exhibitions and the unique opportunities provided by the industrial park several artists contended for the participation. In the two-week professional camp there were nine participants, among them artists from Taiwan, Canada and Serbia, who created almost 60 works.
The artists worked with waste materials only, and KÉSZ Kft. provided the machines necessary for the special elaboration. After it they continued their activities in the International Ceramics Studio. As a closing of the camp an exhibition opened in the KÉSZ Industrial Park, where the program was enriched by the music of the Üzgin Üver band and by the dance of ballet students.
The sculptures were exhibited country-wide, among others in the frames of the Summer Festival of Kecskemét, at the Újlipótváros Gallery of Budapest and in Győr.

There were serious expectations towards the 4th Symposium on Steel Sculptural Art held in 2007, already having an international reputation. There was a huge interest in the camp, for which three foreign artists had been invited. By favour of one of them part of the Hungarian sculptors were invited to an artistic meeting to Taipei, where they represented our country.

As per the previous traditions, the works created here propagated the success of the program at several exhibitions. The most interesting pieces of the creative camp were first shown at the Dome Square of Szeged, providing a really special experience for the visitors of the Open-Air Performance and the people walking around the square. The success of the open-air exhibition was beyond the expectations, the attendance of the unusual show grew day-by-day, its peculiarity charmed many people. From here the expressive steel miracles moved to the Ceramics Studio of Kecskemét for two weeks, then they were exhibited at the Montmarte Festival in Miskolc, and later at the Mediawave.
